Welcome to the

Resume of theatrical work

I have several decades of experience in woodworking and theatre shops, with a wide range of skills.  A good member of a team, I can also happily work on projects myself from start to finish.  Every job is serious, but every job can also benefit from a a bit of fun, so expect dad jokes.  A Jill of All Trades, I’m a knowledge sponge and love to apply my craft across all media.

Skills

Education

Bachelor in Fine Arts in Design
concentration in furniture, minor in Italian, magna cum laude

Buffalo State College, Buffalo, NY

My degree requirements included a high number of studio classes and art & design history classes.  Increased exposure to multiple disciplines within design suited me, as I like to work in multiple media.  This broad skillset served me well when building furniture and theatre props, a truly mixed-media form of art.  My knowledge of art and design history helps me understand what designers are looking for, which helped me be a better shop manager.

Jay Glerum and Harry Donovan’s intensive theatre and concert rigging

40-hour seminar, Seattle WA

This seminar combined study, lecture, and hands-on training to give me a solid foundation in the theory and practical aspects of concert and theatre rigging.

Siena Program

Siena, Italy - via Buffalo State College's Study Abroad Program

I spent one semester in Siena, Italy studying art history, sculpture, and Italian language.

About me

I travel, hike, scuba dive, garden, build websites, read constantly, and feed my soul plinking the ukulele.  I’m probably reading right now.
